Virtual Small Group Instructions

Zoom

Instructions:

Go to zoom.us and create an account

After you finish setting up your account, you will receive a personal meeting url

Open your personal meeting url to launch the Zoom app

In the Join audio popup window, click on the Join With Computer Audio button to turn on your microphone

Click on the Invite Others icon to add people to the meeting

To turn on your camera, click on the Start Video icon in the lower left corner of the window

You can click the Mute and Stop Video buttons to toggle the microphone and camera on and off

Make sure to allow Zoom to access your camera and microphone

The Zoom app is available for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android

Instructions:

Go to hangouts.google.com and log into your existing Google account or create a new one

Click on New conversation then New group, enter up to 10 recipients, then click the green checkmark

A chat window will pop up; click the video icon to start a group call

Allow Google Hangouts to access your camera and microphone

The Google Hangouts app is available for iOS and Android

Facebook / Instagram

These apps can be used for live interaction with the public through video streaming and chat

However, these posts cannot be limited to private groups

Slack

Slack is a message-based communication platform that works across multiple devices

It has limited functionality for live discussions, but is more reliable than texting

The Slack app is available for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android
