Missions Short-Term Mission Reports Canada 2023

CANADA 2023

CRAIG: God is moving in Surrey, in Canada’s British Columbia, my 2nd mission trip and my first international location. During the mission, my connection in the Spirit was the strongest that I have had since accepting Christ as my Savior 4 years ago. I was led in boldness to sharing my testimony of His mercy and grace conquering over 4 decades of addiction to alcohol, porn and sexual iniquity, leading me to powerful encounters with the suffering, lost and broken. God revealed a clearer understanding of His Word and plans for me to serve the Kingdom in seasons to come; I pray for the humility and diligence so I may face challenging problems; I pray for the obedience to continue answering His call from God. To my Lord and Savior, I lift my voice in worship and praise.

TIM: One of the highlights of our trip was the diversity of ministries that we partnered with Victory Family Church. We joined Pastor Israel of the House of Restoration “Street Ministry” on Thursdays at the bus/train station that provided worship music and prayer to people that were in transit from work, school, and marketing. Pastor Israel ministry also included a Saturday outreach to provide groceries and lunch for the homeless and elderly. We could see God’s mighty movement of reaching the nations through Victory Family Church and through the overflow that came from partnering ministries. We are truly blessed to be apart of the works of Jesus Christ.

DANA: Since joining First Assembly of God in 2012 and hearing the heart and call for Missions, I said one day I’d like to go to Japan. As we know, we don’t always get what we want because it is God plan for our life and not our own. To Him be all the Glory for allowing me the opportunity and privilege to be forever changed. The Bible says, “He came to serve and not be served”, I was reminded of that verse constantly throughout this trip serving. Today I stand firm knowing that he created me for His Glory to serve. I can’t wait for STM 2024!

MACY: This father and his sons are from Iraq and are one of the first families we were able to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in the city of Surrey. There are so many people from around the world who have immigrated there. We met many from Canada, Chile, Cambodia, China, Columbia, El Salvador, Eritea, East Africa, Guatemala, India, Iraq, Jalisco Mexico, Japan, Korea, Lebanon, Myanmar, Nigeria, Phillipines, Rwanda, Scotland, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, and Uganda! 135 nations are represented in Vancouver. We partnered with Victory Family Church and the power of God’s Holy Spirit to go and make disciples of all nations in the name of our Lord JESUS! We declare Surrey is a city of salvation!

JOBAN: Hello my name is Joban and this is my first mission trip. It surprises me that I would go because I remember many times saying “I’m never going on a mission trip”. Never say never to God because He’ll make it happen. I just want to say God is so good and I’m so blessed that He has given me the privilege to go. Missions is definitely an eye opener and I hope it doesn’t stop here. God did a lot during this trip and I was blessed to be a witness of everything that He had done. This was surely a season of uneasy and uncomfortableness for me, but thanks to God I have grown through it and I’m now stronger than before.

TRUDI: The words from an old song entitled “My Tribute” comes to mind as I reflect on our Canada mission trip. “To God be the glory, For the things He has done.” One of the highlights was having a Children’s Encounter. As the team was anointing the children and praying for the Holy Spirit to fill them, God gave me a word that these children will be used to reach many people of all generations. I prayed that they would have visions and dreams. That night, God gave a dream to one of the boys. He visited heaven and talked with people like Moses and other patriarchs. After that he saw God’s throne. It was so bright and there was no sorrow. Another child testified that they felt a warm feeling and peace come upon them when a team member prayed for her. Praise the Lord, God is moving in His children!
