Prison Ministry

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound…” —Isaiah 61:1

The prison ministry conducts regular outreaches to the men and women incarcerated in Oahu’s prisons and correctional facilities. The ministry also makes annual trips to Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, Arizona, a mainland prison that houses inmates from the state of Hawaii.

Through Bible study, worship and prayer, inmates are given a chance to break free from mental, emotional and spiritual bondage, and are encouraged and empowered to become productive members of society when they’re released from prison.
